How the Mystery Party works:

On two of the participating blogs below, a Commenter will be selected to receive the prize. No one knows who the Mystery Designers are, so you may wish to visit each blog to leave a comment.

The winners will be announced on November 3 on Facebook, the SNS blog, and on our blogs:

I used both of these sets on my card.  I started with this great scene, stamped and heat embossed twice with Log Cabin embossing powder - once on tan cardstock and once on white cardstock.  After adding a little color, I cut out the scene from the white cardstock, along with the green layer, using Spellbinders' Filigree Delight set.  This is layered on gold and then white, edged with Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft.  I added more Twinkling Clouds to some of the snowdrifts and the pine trees.

I fussy cut the trees on the right side from the image stamped on the tan cardstock, added flocking to the snow areas, and layered it to the card front with dimensionals.

I did the same for the little pine tree in the front.

All of this was layered on a piece of light brown cardstock but first I stamped the swirl around the edges with our new Mega Tack Glue and added Diamond Dust and Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter.  All is layered onto a white card base.

I added several layered snowflakes, but decided to use a combination of tan and white cardstock and added a mix of Twinkling Clouds SS, Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter, and Diamond Dust.

You can find the complete details for this card in the gallery here.

I think you will love these sets as much as I do.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance at all the great prizes!  If you can't wait to see if you are a winner, you can order both sets today at a special price.

Both sets are available available at 20% off as part of our Wintry specials. Just use the code WINTRY20 in the COMMENTS SECTION when checking out in the SNS on-line store to receive these brand new sets at 20% off.

Promotion valid through November 3.(sorry, credit card customers only. Total will be manually adjusted.  Or phone the SNS shoppe on Wednesday and ask them to manually adjust the charge on the phone for you).

Thank you for coming by!

Published Fall Batik

I am back to share another technique card I had published recently in the CardMaker Creative Color for Card Making special issue.

This card uses a very simple and fun technique called No Iron Coffee Filter Batik.  You simply stamp and heat emboss your images with VersaMark ink and clear embossing powder all over a coffee filter.  Then you apply color with reinkers or distress stains.

You end up with a lovely piece that makes a great background layer on your card.  To help bring out the design, I layered it on white cardstock.  Then I cut it to the size I needed for my card.

I layered it on a piece of sticker paper that was punched along one edge and added Tiger Orange Velvet Glitter to the remaining exposed adhesive.

This was added to the card front and the Second Spring sentiment was added.  Find the complete details of this card in the Sparkle N Sprinkle gallery here.

Thanks for stopping by.

I've Been Published - Embossed Resist Technique

I have to say that I am really excited!!  Several of my cards were published in the new CardMaker Creative Color for Card Making special issue.  This is my first time having a card published (actually it is the first time I even submitted a card) so it is a big deal for me.  I thought I would share one of the cards that uses one of my favorite techniques, Embossed Resist.  It is very easy and fun to use.

Supplies:
1.  White Glossy Cardstock
2.  White or Clear Embossing Powder
3.  VersaMark Ink
4.  Anti-static Pouch
5.  Dye Ink
6.  Blending Tool or Sponge
7.  Stamps
8.  Paper Towel

Brush the surface of the glossy cardstock with the anti-static pouch to eliminating any static and moisture.  Stamp with VersaMark ink, add embossing powder, and heat set.

Use a blending tool or sponge to apply dye ink over the entire surface.  The embossed areas will resist the ink.  Wipe the paper towel over the surface to remove any excess ink.  This will bring out the embossed image.  I used the label die cut in the center and used both pieces for my card.

I wanted a thin border behind the sentiment so I used the same size die and cut two dark purple pieces.  I cut the first one in half horizontally and cut the ends off of the second one.  I arranged these pieces and attached them behind the sentiment so the edges just peeked from behind.

I layered the die cut section on a piece that I stamped with the same background stamp with the same colored ink.

Here is the finished card again.  Detailed instructions for this card can be found in the gallery here.

Here is a similar card, using the same background stamp with Tangelo Memento ink.

Go here to see another card I previously posted that also uses this technique.

If you have never used this technique, you really need to try it!!  It might become one of your favorites, too.
